Switching is Easy!

To make switching as easy as possible, we are including a free Public Mobile SIM with every phone purchased. 

Note: once you have the SIM card, the entire sign up and activation process happens online, which may or may not be your cup of tea. 

Activation Steps:

  1. Go to PublicMobile.ca
  2. Choose your plan (see our favourites above)
  3. At Checkout, select "I already have a SIM card" and enter the number on the back of the SIM we included in your package
  4. Enter your payment details (don't forget to use your Promo Code -- options are above!)
  5. Download the Public Mobile app to activate your SIM (iOS,Android)

How do I make sure I keep my number?

This is a straightforward process that is actually regulated by the Federal government. When you are activating with Public Mobile, they will ask you if you have a number with another carrier. Enter that number and your current carrier, and they will do the work of moving it over to your Public Mobile account (you will likely have to confirm with your current carrier that you are leaving).

When do I take my old SIM out of my phone?

Keep the SIM card from your old carrier in your phone until it loses signal. Once you lose signal, that means the port is complete and you can pop in the Public Mobile SIM card and should be on your new plan right away.

The promocode is not working, what do I do?

Continue with the activation – you can reach out to Public Mobile’s customer service once you are activated with your promo code

What happens when my promo code expires?

The price of your plan will not change, you will just no longer have the free data from the promo code.
